The car features unconventional elements like electrically sliding doors, mimicking traditional minivan utilities. This custom vehicle was unveiled by Zuckerberg himself through an Instagram post where he claimed he designed the distinctive car personally.
In Zuckerberg's post on Instagram, he explained that he took up the design challenge himself. His choice of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT as a base for this project comes from its luxurious mix of performance and versatility that satisfy both his and his wife’s preferences. By adding the sliding doors—a feature commonly associated with minivans—the car blends everyday utility with high-end car design.
West Coast Customs, known for their expertise in custom automotive designs, helped realize Zuckerberg’s vision. The collaboration aimed to keep the robust characteristics of the Porsche while integrating the functionalities essential for family use like ease of access and comfort for multiple passengers.
Interestingly, this is not Porsche's first venture into designs that blend high-performance vehicles with practical family features. In the 1980s, they produced a limited number of Porsche B32s based on Volkswagen T3 but fitted with an engine from the 911 Carrera. Additionally, Porsche displayed a concept minivan called Vision Renndienst in 2018 which featured a six-seat arrangement and central driver's seat layout.
