BMW of North America is gearing up for another thrilling run at the Rebelle Rally, bringing their all-new high-performance BMW X3 M50 to the challenging off-road endurance event. The company's return follows a podium finish last year.

The 2024 Rebelle Rally, set for October 11-18, will push the limits of both vehicle and team as they navigate over 1,500 miles (2,414 km) of rugged California and Nevada terrain. This unique competition stands out as the nation's longest off-road rally and features all-female driver-navigator teams. What makes it even more challenging? Participants must rely solely on paper maps and compasses, with GPS use strictly prohibited.

Behind the wheel of the BMW X3 M50 will be Rebecca Donaghe, an experienced Rebelle Rally veteran embarking on her 8th run. Donaghe expressed her excitement about the upcoming challenge:

"I'm excited to return for my 8th Rebelle Rally and 2nd year with BMW, this time in the all-new BMW X3. We weren't sure what to expect last year and came away with a podium finish, so this year we know what's possible, expectations are high, and we'll be pushing even harder. It's another chance to take the Ultimate Driving Machine to the ultimate proving grounds and showcase BMW's engineering capabilities in some of the most beautiful and challenging terrain in North America. It's especially exciting to drive a pre-production model even before the first customers have taken delivery."

Joining Donaghe as navigator is Syndiely Wade, who shared her thoughts on the upcoming event:

"We are prepared to tackle this challenge inside the all-new BMW X3—a vehicle that combines performance, offroad capabilities, and comfort. This unique competition, navigated exclusively using topographic maps and a compass, will be an opportunity to test the power of this extraordinary vehicle while showcasing my skills in old-school navigation."

The BMW X3 M50 they'll be piloting is no ordinary SUV. This powerhouse boasts 393 horsepower and has been specially modified for the rally. Custom skid plates and interior storage solutions, crafted by BMW Manufacturing Talent Factory students, have been added to enhance its off-road capabilities. The vehicle also sports Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail tires, Rotiform BLQ-C wheels, and a host of other upgrades including specialized lighting and protective coatings.

The fourth-generation BMW X3 comes from the company's plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina. It's set to hit the North American market in October 2024. The X3 30 xDrive will feature a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine with 255 horsepower, starting at $49,500, while the more powerful M50 xDrive with 393 horsepower will start at $64,100.
