The Cybercab is a fully self-driving car that uses Tesla's latest autonomous driving systems. At the event, Tesla let attendees take rides in about 20 Cybercabs to show how they work.
Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk, says they'll start making the Cybercab in 2026, but he also said it might be before 2027. Musk warned that these timelines can be too optimistic. The company thinks the Cybercab will cost less than $30,000, but they'll need to get approval to make and sell it because it doesn't have a steering wheel or pedals.
The Cybercab looks pretty cool. It's got a single LED light bar across the front and sharp lines on the hood. The back looks a bit like Tesla's Model Y. One of the most eye-catching features is the butterfly doors that open up like a supercar's.
Tesla didn't put wing mirrors or a rear window on the Cybercab. The wheels have solid covers to help it go further on a single charge. At the back, there's another solid light bar.
Inside, the Cybercab is very simple. It seats two people and has a big screen in the middle, kind of like what you'd see in a Model 3 or Model Y.
Tesla didn't tell us everything about the Cybercab. We don't know what kind of motor it has or how far it can go on one charge.
