General Motors will bring back the Chevrolet Bolt in 2025. The company's president, Mark Reuss, announced the car will return as a 2026 model with new features and as part of a whole family of electric vehicles.

GM plans to price the new Bolt just a bit higher than the 2023 version, which cost $28,795. Right now, Chevrolet's cheapest electric car is the Equinox EV at $34,995.

Reuss said the 2026 Bolt will give customers more for their money than the original did. He explained:

"The 2026 Bolt will offer the same value as the original Bolt and much more, and it will be a moneymaker for us. It's a direct result of the investment in the next-gen EV platform"

The company will make the new Bolt at its Fairfax Assembly plant in Kansas. The car will have an updated interior similar to the Trax model and will charge much faster than before.

GM wants to expand the Bolt into a whole family of electric cars. Reuss hinted at this, saying:

"It will just be one member of a family on the Bolt, including an even lower-cost option"

The current Bolt has found loyal fans in the U.S. electric car market, but its slow charging speed has been a problem. Now, GM seems ready to make the Bolt lineup bigger and better.
