The leaked images first popped up as screenshots from an official video on social media. Later, high-resolution photos from a brochure at a Nissan dealership confirmed the new design.
The current Murano has been around for over a decade, having debuted at the 2014 New York Auto Show. This new version marks a complete transformation for the midsize SUV.
Up front, the 2025 Murano sports a wide grille with illuminated accents, similar to the smaller Kicks. The side profile looks more flamboyant with muscular hips and a sharply angled C-pillar. A contrasting black roof adds to the sportier look.

At the rear, the new Murano channels the Ariya's style with a full-width lightbar and the Nissan logo in the center. The license plate moves down to the bumper, creating a cleaner look. The rear hatch also has a steeper angle than before.
Inside, Nissan has completely revamped the dated interior. The new cabin features a stepped dashboard with a digital instrument cluster and a widescreen infotainment system. A two-spoke steering wheel and a modern center stack with physical controls round out the fresh design.

Under the hood, the Murano will likely ditch its current 3.5-liter V6 engine. In its place, we might see a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder borrowed from the Infiniti QX60. That engine puts out 268 horsepower and 286 lb-ft of torque. A new nine-speed automatic transmission will likely replace the current CVT.
The 2025 Murano will ride on an updated version of Nissan's D platform. We'll probably get to see the official reveal next month at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
