BMW Group design chief Adrian van Hooydonk explained the company's approach in an interview with Top Gear:
"The big push with EVs, these technologies and this design language, will transfer over the entire product portfolio including our combustion vehicles. For the customer it won't be difficult – they will all get new modern BMWs and they can choose the drivetrain."
The car maker wants to give customers a consistent experience, no matter what type of engine they choose. All new BMWs will have similar exterior styling and high-tech interior features.
There will be some small differences between electric and gas-powered models. The shapes might vary slightly, and the interiors will have minor changes. But overall, all new BMWs will have the same look and feel.
Inside the cars, drivers will find some exciting new features. These include a BMW Panoramic Vision head-up display, a uniquely shaped center touchscreen, and futuristic steering wheel controls. BMW will also use a lot of recycled materials in these new interiors.
When it comes to how the production models will look compared to concept cars, we can expect them to be quite similar. They'll probably be more compact and have more detailed designs, much like how the i3 and i8 production models turned out. But they'll keep the clean, modern look that BMW Neue Klasse is known for.
