Subaru is saying goodbye to its Legacy Outback in Japan with a special edition. The company will make 500 Legacy Outback 30th Anniversary Edition cars before stopping sales in the country.

Customers can order the special Outback from November 10 through March 2025. If more than 500 people want to buy one, Subaru will use a lottery to choose who gets to purchase the car.

The 30th Anniversary Edition Outback has 18-inch matte black wheels and black parts all around, including the bumpers, wheel arches, and side skirts. The wing mirrors, grille, roof rails, and rear spoiler are also black. Special badges mark it as the anniversary model.

Subaru improved how the car drives, too. The front dampers are made by Hitachi Astemo and are called Sensitive Frequency Response Dampers. Both the front and rear dampers got special tuning from STI, Subaru's performance division.

Inside the car, drivers will find a fancy sound system. Harmon Kardon made the 10-speaker setup, which includes a subwoofer. The seats are covered in soft Nappa leather that comes in ivory or black with silver stitching. The door panels have '30th Anniversary' stitched into them.

Subaru hasn't said how much the special Outback will cost yet. The Legacy Outback has been around for a long time, and this last version marks the end of its run in Japan.
