The Land Cruiser ROX concept, created by Toyota's Calty Design Research studio, takes the new generation Land Cruiser and turns it into an open-air off-roader. The designers removed the C and D pillars, the roof, and added a custom framework to keep the vehicle rigid. They also added a panoramic roof with a reclining soft top and custom half-doors without glass windows.
The ROX concept sports wide fender extensions, larger wheels with off-road tires, and steel bumpers front and rear. It's got reinforced skid plates, brush guards, and a new spare wheel carrier. The tailgate is functional, and more than half of the vehicle has been replaced with new parts.

The 4Runner Surf concept, on the other hand, is a throwback to the Japanese-spec Hilux Surf from the 1980s. Motorsports Garage took the upcoming 2025 Toyota 4Runner and transformed it into a two-door semi-convertible off-roader.
They removed the roof, D-pillars, and rear doors, then added a removable roof structure. The concept sports a custom roof rack for surfboards, wide fender extensions, and a bull bar. It's got "Turbo" stampings on the doors and a topographical map printed on the hood, giving it a real beach cruiser vibe.
