GM's electric car sales have been growing fast. From July to September this year, they sold more than 32,000 EVs. That's 46% more than the last three months and 60% more than the same time last year. These strong numbers have put GM in second place for EV sales in the U.S. for that period.
Looking at the whole year so far, the Cadillac Lyriq has been GM's best-selling electric car with 20,318 sold. The Chevrolet Blazer EV is close behind with 15,232 sales. But the Chevrolet Equinox EV might soon take the lead. It's already sold 9,772 just in the last three months.
GM is selling a bunch of different electric cars right now. They've got the Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Blazer EV, Chevrolet Equinox EV, Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, and GMC Hummer EV.
Even though GM is doing well, Tesla is still way ahead in EV sales. But GM is beating other car companies like Hyundai and Ford. In the last three months, Hyundai sold 29,609 EVs and Ford sold 23,509, both less than GM's 32,095.
GM isn't just focusing on fancy, expensive electric cars. They're bringing back the Chevrolet Bolt in 2025 as a cheaper option for people who want an EV but don't want to spend too much.
