The road to F1 wasn't easy for Cadillac. They tried for a long time to get onto the grid, initially teaming up with Andretti. Now, they're going it alone, but with some familiar faces still in the picture.
At first, Cadillac plans to use engines from another team. They're looking at Ferrari or Honda as potential suppliers. But they've got big plans - by the end of the decade, they want to make their own F1 engines.
While Andretti isn't in the team name anymore, they're still involved. Michael Andretti stepped down as CEO of Andretti Global, with Dan Towriss taking over what's now called TWG Global's motorsport business. Mario Andretti, a racing legend, will probably join the team's board of directors.
Cadillac's entry is a big deal for F1. The last new team to join was Haas F1 back in 2016. Haas is currently the only other American-owned team in F1, but that's about to change.
