Glickenhaus has kicked off production of its 004 Series supercar. The company plans to deliver road-going versions of the center-seat marvel to customers in the first quarter of next year.

The 004 Series comes in two flavors - the 004S and the 004CS. Both pack a punch with a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine that churns out 650 horsepower. Driving enthusiasts will love the gated six-speed manual transmission, a rare find in modern supercars.

What sets the 004 apart is its unique three-seat layout. The driver sits front and center, flanked by two passenger seats. It's a setup that promises an unmatched driving experience.

The 004S comes loaded with creature comforts. It boasts climate control, six-way electronically adjustable seats, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Glickenhaus claims the car passed NHTSA crash safety impact tests without airbags - a testament to its robust construction.

For those who want more, the 004CS ups the ante. It features more aggressive aerodynamics, beefier brakes, center-lock wheels, and sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. A front suspension lift system comes standard on this model.

"We're offering a Founder series that lets customers really make their 004 their own," a Glickenhaus spokesperson said. "They can choose unique cabin designs, one-of-a-kind paint finishes, and add other personal touches."Glickenhaus is now taking orders for both variants. The company hasn't revealed pricing details yet, but given the car's specs and exclusivity, it's safe to say it won't come cheap.

The 004 Series represents a bold move by Glickenhaus. By combining old-school manual transmission with cutting-edge design and performance, they're aiming to carve out a unique niche in the supercar market. Time will tell if this gamble pays off, but for now, car enthusiasts have something exciting to look forward to in the new year.
