Acura has announced the return of the "RSX" designation to the model lineup. Previously, this was the name of a two-door coupe, but after the rebirth, the designation will be given to an all-electric crossover.

The Acura RSX was sold in the United States and Canada from 2002 to 2006. But then it was a two-door coupe based on the fourth-generation Honda Integra. The new RSX will be an all-electric coupe-like crossover. Sales will begin in 2026.

The design pattern for the future Acura RSX is based on the Acura Performance EV concept, which was unveiled at Monterey Car Week in August 2024. The production vehicle will be based on Honda's new platform designed specifically for battery-electric vehicles. It will be the first electric vehicle produced at Honda's EV Hub plant in Ohio. Production is scheduled to begin in late 2025.

Real-world testing of the all-electric RSX begins this week. Prototypes will be driven on public roads wearing original camouflage designed by Acura's global design team. The camouflage emphasises the coupe-like silhouette with intricate patterns that mimic light shining through the protective film.

The crossover will get the new ASIMO operating system that was announced at CES 2025. Other technical details of the new Acura RSX are yet to be revealed. However, earlier Honda revealed that all Honda 0 Series models on the new platform will have a 400-volt architecture, allowing the battery to charge up to 80 per cent in 15 minutes. This will come with a range of at least 300 miles (482 kilometres).
