Surpass AS01: Nokian Tyres introduces new high-performance all-season tyres

The new Nokian Surpass AS01 tyres are designed for North America. They are suitable for both internal combustion engine vehicles and electric models.

Finnish company Nokian Tyres, known for its winter tyres, has announced the new Surpass AS01 all-season tyres. The manufacturer promises excellent grip and handling on both dry and wet roads, regardless of the type of vehicle powertrain.

The Surpass AS01 has a speed index of W, allowing speeds of up to 168 mph (270 km/h). The use of a high silicate compound improves the tyre's handling and durability. The sidewalls are reinforced with aramid fibres to increase resistance to punctures and damage. Nokian also offers a Pothole Protection guarantee: if the tyre is damaged due to road conditions, it will be replaced free of charge.

The tyre tread has a wide pattern with shoulder hooks and sipes for reliable traction in a variety of conditions. Although not officially rated for extreme winter conditions, the Surpass AS01 is suitable for use all year round.

The Surpass AS01 tyre will be available in 65 sizes and will go on sale in the US by the end of January 2025.
