The authenticity is indirectly indicated by the coincidence of the design with a recent rendering from the Japanese publication BestCar (image below), known for its access to insider information.
In China, the localisation of the RAV4 is produced by a joint venture between GAC and Toyota. It is likely that such a crossover will be different from the global RAV4. Nevertheless, the external outlines correspond to the spy shots of the global version published on the Cochespias forum.
The car has a honeycomb-style grille, more angular side elements, new alloy wheels and Toyota's latest signature LED lighting like on the Camry and C-HR.
Along with the fresh image from China, news from Japan suggests that the new RAV4 will be available in hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric versions thanks to the updated TNGA-K platform. In some countries, including Japan and Australia, Toyota will drop purely petrol versions altogether.
Another leak says that the debut of the new RAV4 will be delayed, at least for Japan, where the launch is expected in late 2026.
