Audi has announced that it will end production of the Q8 e-tron model at its Brussels plant on 28 February. The plant will be closed and around 3,000 employees will lose their jobs.

The decision to close the plant was made due to declining demand for the Q8 e-tron model and structural problems at the plant, including high logistics costs and the difficulty of modernisation due to its location near the city centre.

Unions and management reached an agreement on a "social plan" to support the laid-off workers. The plan includes additional bonuses based on length of service, special events for employees over 60, coaching services and job placement assistance.
