The five-door Suzuki Jimny Nomade was officially launched in Japan on 30 January, with first deliveries expected on 3 April. This version of the SUV is manufactured in India at Maruti Suzuki's Haryana plant and exported to more than 100 countries.
Interestingly, in India itself, sales of the five-door Jimny are not impressive, so its realisation is accompanied by discounts. But, as the company representatives note, this model is a niche model, so its sales should not be compared with crossovers.
The situation is different with export. The SUV has already gained popularity in Mexico, Australia and South Africa. Now, it has become the second most exported Maruti Suzuki model after the Fronx.
Suzuki has said that it is working to reopen orders in Japan as soon as possible, but when exactly that will happen is yet to be specified.
