French premium brand DS Automobiles has opened pre-orders for its new EV, the DS N°8. It is a technologically advanced electric fastback with a crossover accent, which should become the company's flagship.

In France, prices for the DS N°8 start at €59,200 for the base Pallas FWD version and go up to €74,600 for the top-spec Etoile AWD Long Range. The latter uses a 276 kW (375 hp) twin-motor powertrain and a 97.2 kWh battery, which provides an impressive 686 kilometres of WLTP range.

The DS N°8's 160 kW charging system can increase the remaining battery charge from 20 to 80 per cent in 27 minutes, which is equivalent to an increase in driving range of 450 kilometres. It also supports 11 kW AC charging from single-phase and three-phase chargers.

The DS N°8 is also highlighted by DS Pixel Vision - headlights with a range of over 500 metres, Active Scan Suspension, a camera that analyses the road and sends information to the steering suspension, a night vision system, and digital rear vision. Drive Assist 2.0 supports semi-automatic lane change and the Predictive ACC function, which adapts speed according to road profile and speed limits.

First deliveries of the DS N°8 are scheduled for the second half of 2025.
