Ford Pro Division has developed new Delivery Assist technology designed to optimise the routine activities performed by delivery drivers during stops.

Delivery Assist is capable of automatically switching off the engine, closing windows, locking doors and activating emergency lights when delivery van drivers make stops. This feature aims to improve business productivity by reducing the time per stop and, as a result, potentially increasing the number of deliveries.

The technology also improves safety for drivers and fleet owners by ensuring that the vehicle remains secure when the driver is not present during a delivery. In addition, the system is designed to reduce the cognitive load on drivers, allowing them to focus directly on their work and surroundings.

Once a delivery is completed, Delivery Assist also simplifies the process of resuming the journey. Door locks are unlocked by the keyless entry system, and pressing the brake pedal starts the engine and returns the windows to their original position. Drivers can customise window, alarm and door lock automation to suit their preferences.

The technology is available on 2025 model year E-Transit 2.3 and Transit 2.4 models with EcoBlue diesel engines and automatic transmission. In addition, Delivery Assist will be integrated into the new E-Transit Custom 2.5 and Transit Custom 2.6 models with automatic transmission. The first deliveries of these vehicles are expected in the summer of 2025.
