The crossover has increased in size, now measuring 5158 mm long, -1991 mm wide and 1788 mm high. This makes the Teramont Pro 61 mm longer than the current Atlas. The width and height have also increased slightly.
Teramont Pro has a closed grille at the front and large headlights, visually connected by thin light strips. The door handles are hidden, there is a spoiler above the boot door and the tail lights have a pixelated design.
Volkswagen hasn't revealed much about the interior, but official photos show a digital dashboard, infotainment system display and front passenger display. The model can also be equipped with additional screens for rear-seat passengers.
Available options include a panoramic sunroof, a Harman Kardon audio system and a 30-colour ambient lighting system. These are joined by a flavour diffuser, a 'royal' front passenger seat with a footrest and massage and ventilation functions. In addition, climate control and sunshades for the rear seats are available for the model.
The fifth-generation EA888 engine promises improved responsiveness as well as lower fuel consumption and emissions. This unit uses a 500 bar fuel system and a variable geometry turbocharger. The crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons and other moving parts have been "comprehensively strengthened". The lubrication system, intake manifold and intercooler were also upgraded. Power has risen to 272bhp and maximum torque is 400Nm (295lb-ft).
The engine is mated to a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission with a 4Motion all-wheel drive system. This setup allows the crossover to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.6 seconds.
Teramont Pro has adaptive DCC shock absorbers, as well as a set of driving assistance systems IQ. The latter is positioned as an L2+ semi-autonomous driving system. Volkswagen also noted that the model can be equipped with a "parking butler system" that provides remote control of the car's manoeuvres in tight spaces.
