Dutch publication Autoweek has received confirmation from Kia Netherlands that the ProCeed Shooting Brake has already been discontinued and that the latest Ceed and XCeed will roll off the assembly line in May. As of today, the manufacturer is only supplying already ordered cars and cars in fixed configurations from stock. However, Kia promises that deliveries will continue until the end of 2025, until it sells off the leftovers.
The most likely electric successor to the Ceed will be the Kia EV4. For internal combustion engine enthusiasts, Kia has the K4, but it's not yet known if this model will make it to Europe. Theoretically, the European version of the K4 could take the name Ceed, but there is no official confirmation of this yet.
The Ceed debuted in 2007 as the Kia Cee'd and was the successor to the Kia Cerato. Later came the ProCeed (first a three-door hatchback, and from 2018 a schutzing break) and the XCeed cross hatchback, introduced in 2019. The Ceed now gives way to a new era of electric cars and global Kia models, leaving behind a 17-year history as one of the brand's best-known hatchbacks in Europe.
