Audi has presented at the Auto Shanghai 2025 motor show an extended version of the Q5 crossover for the Chinese market. The novelty received the "L" prefix to its name, which is characteristic for such cars.

The Audi Q5L is the long-wheelbase version of the third-generation (GU) "global" Q5 model, which is available from 2024. Both are based on the PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) platform and hardly differ in appearance. From the differences of the Chinese version should be noted semi-hidden door handles and visually larger rear doors. In addition, the Q5L will be sold with the S-Line package by default.

Cars with the S-Line package have matrix headlights and daytime running lights with 8 customisable patterns. The rear lights are created using second generation OLED technology with individual pixel control and 8 digital signatures. The lights also have a special additional safety function: they display a warning when approaching quickly from behind.

The new Q5L is equipped with a 48-volt hybrid system based on a 2.0-litre EA888 series turbo petrol engine coupled to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Power output of the powertrain reaches 272 hp.

Another feature of the Chinese Audi model is the Huawei ADS 2.0 driver assistance system with lidar in the top versions.

Prices and sales start dates for the new Audi Q5L have not yet been named.
