Tesla has previously offered a tow hitch for the Model 3 in Europe and Asia, but this option is available for the American version of the small sedan for the first time.

Tesla Model 3 owners in North America have finally received a factory solution for towing small trailers. The optional "Tow Package" for the Model 3 costs $1300 in the USA and $1765 in Canada. It is available for Model 3 starting from the 2024 model year, except for the Performance version.

The "Tow Package" is available in the Tesla Shop. It includes a steel tow bar and a 2-inch receiver. The package also includes a standard American 7-pin connector, the appropriate trailer wiring, and software support for towing mode.

The maximum claimed towing capacity of the Model 3 RWD and AWD is 2200 pounds (1000 kg). Interestingly, the European version of the Model 3 Performance can officially tow only 1100 pounds (500 kg).

The towing package for the Model 3 does not include the ball hitch, which should be purchased separately depending on the type of trailer being connected. However, the price includes installation at a Tesla service center.
