Ford Motor is recalling 6,733 vehicles in the US. This is the company's 59th recall campaign of the year, approaching record levels. By comparison, Volkswagen has issued only 15 recalls since the beginning of the year.
First recall: The Lincoln Aviator and Corsair (2020–2023). A total of 3,227 vehicles with the Revel audio system are affected. Due to faulty software, the seatbelt warning system sounds an alarm for less than the required time of four seconds. Dealers will install updated software for the audio system control module.
Second recall: Ford Transit (2022–2023). A total of 3,506 vans are affected by a similar problem involving incorrectly installed software during previous repairs. This may result in the dashboard indicator lighting not functioning, or incorrect malfunction warnings appearing. This issue will also be resolved by updating the software at dealerships.
