Honda has introduced the Civic Type R Ultimate Edition Type R. This is a "farewell" special version of the hot hatchback, created in honor of the end of sales of the legendary model in Europe.

Honda has released only 40 units of the Civic Type R Ultimate Edition for sale across Europe. Each car is painted in "Championship White" with red stickers, carbon details, additional lighting, and a gift set. The special edition was presented before the completion of European sales of the Type R model.

The special model is dedicated to the 28-year history of hot hatchbacks. Red stickers on the hood and sides of the car combine with the iconic model badge. There is also a black roof and carbon details throughout the body, including the spoiler and sill covers.

Inside, the carbon theme continues with the central console panel. Additional lighting highlights individual interior elements: door trims, cup holders, center console, footwells, and space under the seats. When the front doors are opened, projectors with the Type R logo are activated.

Buyers of these 40 cars will receive a unique gift box. It contains a numbered badge (from 1 to 40) and a carbon keychain. Also included are custom-made floor mats and a car cover.

The popularity star of the Civic Type R rose in Japan with the sixth generation of the "civilian" Civic hatchback in 1997. Since then, it has gone through five generations and numerous special editions. The model has gained a loyal fan base worldwide.

Sales of the Honda Civic Type-R in Europe will be definitively halted in 2026. It appears that Honda has no intention to ever supply the Civic Type-R to Europe again. The price of the Ultimate Edition is still unknown. The "regular" Civic Type-R with a four-cylinder engine producing 329 hp starts from €91,680.
