Xiaomi SU7 Ultra breaks the record of Porsche Taycan at Nürburgring Nordschleife

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra sedan with an optional "track package" completed a lap of the Nürburgring in 7 minutes 4.957 seconds. This is the best result for a production electric car in the history of this track.

The video of the record run of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has been published on the brand’s official social media pages and YouTube.

The previous record holder - Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package - showed a result of 7 minutes 07.55 seconds in 2024.

The head of Xiaomi Lei Jun expressed confidence in further improving the result on his social media pages on X and Weibo. The company plans to have a long-term presence on the track to compete with the leading automakers in the world.

In October 2024, the SU7 Ultra prototype recorded a time of 6 minutes 46.874 seconds, becoming the fastest four-door car on the track. This broke the seven-year dominance of European and American brands.

The production version of the SU7 Ultra uses the same tri-motor powertrain with Xiaomi engines boasting a total power of 1548 hp. The sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds, and the top speed reaches 350 km/h.
