The next-generation Toyota Corolla is set to appear in 2026. The model will be available in three body types: sedan, hatchback, and wagon. The Corolla Touring wagon will form a separate subgroup, which will include a base model, a crossover, and even a sporty version.

According to the BestCarWeb website, known for its insights into the Japanese automotive industry, the creators of the new generation Corolla have paid special attention to usability, fuel efficiency, and environmental friendliness. The base model is expected to receive a new 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine in combination with an electric motor in HEV (self-charging hybrid) and PHEV (plug-in hybrid) variants.

The crossover will resemble the Yaris Cross with the adjustment for a long body and spacious trunk. Its distinctive features will include increased ground clearance and unpainted plastic cladding around the body. In Europe, such a model could compete with the VW Golf Alltrack, but it is still unclear whether it will have all-wheel drive.

The most surprising version of the Corolla Touring will probably be the sporty one. The new model will receive a 1.6-liter 3-cylinder turbo engine G16E-GTS from the GR Yaris and GR Corolla, producing 304 hp. In this case, it is already known about the presence of the GR-FOUR all-wheel-drive system, honed in the World Rally Championship (WRC).
