The iON HT tires are specifically designed for large vehicles - SUVs and light-duty trucks. In the USA, this category includes vehicles with a gross weight of up to 8,500 pounds (about 3,860 kg).
The designation "HT" stands for "Highway-Terrain." Thanks to low rolling resistance, the new tire is optimized for minimal energy consumption on highways, providing "exceptional driving comfort" and enhanced durability due to its strength and stability.
Features of the iON HT tires:
- The Roll Lite compound and Opti Cure technology are designed to reduce internal friction and optimize the curing temperature, contributing to reduced rolling resistance and improved vehicle efficiency.
- The ProDurable compound and Opti Tread technology enhance wear resistance by evenly distributing pressure on the road. The claimed tread life is up to 80,000 miles (about 128,750 km), which is one of the highest figures among tires for electric vehicles.
- Joint grooves and expanding shoulder grooves provide reliable grip and water evacuation for improved all-season traction, especially in wet conditions.
- Aggressive shoulder block design and iON Clad construction protect against external impacts.
The iON HT will join the range of all-season, summer, and winter tires for electric vehicles from Hankook iON. The iON HT will be available in August in five initial sizes, ranging from 18 to 22 inches, with UTQG ratings of 900/A/A and speed ratings of T or H.
