The autonomous battery block with integrated charging elements can be used in fleets, service stations, and remote locations, such as construction sites.

MAN Truck & Bus, in collaboration with AW Automotive, has introduced a new solution for charging electric trucks and buses – Smart Charging Cube.

Depending on the conditions on-site, the device can be connected to an electrical network with a current from 32 to 630 amperes. Essentially, it is a battery with control electronics and a charging station. The energy storage volume ranges from 500 to 1100 kWh, and the number of charging points is from one to four. The maximum charging power is 400 kW. Additionally, the Smart Charging Cube can power an external station, providing charging up to 1000 kW.

Smart Charging Cube can work in conjunction with solar panels and other local generation sources. It also supports functions for smoothing peak consumption, dynamic power management, and bidirectional charging (V2G).

The novelty is already available to MAN customers. The Smart Charging Cube can be purchased, leased, or rented.
