General Motors officially announced the new generation electric vehicle Chevrolet Bolt. The first photos revealing design elements of the model have been published.

GM has officially confirmed that the compact electric vehicle Chevrolet Bolt will return in the 2027 model year - four years after the end of production of the first generation. The new Bolt will be built on GM’s modern electric architecture, previously known as Ultium, and will be the brand’s first mass-produced vehicle with a factory-installed charging port NACS (Tesla standard).

Details are still scarce, but Chevrolet has published teaser photos on social media with the caption: "You asked - we listened. #ChevyBolt is back and better than ever. More details this fall."

According to preliminary information, the model will receive new front and rear optics, a built-in NACS port (previously the Bolt used CCS with an adapter), as well as a number of other technical and stylistic improvements.

GM is keeping the new model under wraps, and it is still unknown whether it will be a hatchback or a crossover. However, the company’s CEO Mary Barra had hinted earlier that the next-generation Bolt will likely inherit the compact SUV form factor, like the previous version Bolt EUV.

All-wheel drive options are also expected, along with an updated version of the SuperCruise autopilot, but the main highlight will be increased charging speeds (compared to the previous 54 kW) and a redesigned multimedia system. Instead of the usual Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the new model may use an integrated Android OS.

The full premiere of the model is expected in the fall of 2025. Prices, specifications, and sales start dates will be announced closer to the debut.
