The new Lexus Sport Concept debuted at the Monterey Car Week — a vision of the brand’s future sports car and, in essence, the first real hint at the successor to the Lexus LFA.

The appearance of the Lexus concept followed the recent unveiling of two Toyota prototypes at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Details were not revealed then, but the proportions of the cars were very close to the LFA — a long hood, a short rear, and a cabin shifted back. We now see all of this in the Lexus concept.

The Sport Concept has a classic silhouette with a low stance, wide wheel arches, and a sleek profile reminiscent of the Toyota 2000GT. Other distinctive features include vents in the hood, a sharp splitter, and intricate graphics of the narrow headlights.

At the back — an active spoiler in the style of the LFA and a massive diffuser with a triangular element in the center, reminiscent of the signature three-pipe exhaust of the previous supercar. However, the concept does not have any exhaust pipes, indicating its relation to the electric Lexus Electrified Sport, presented back in 2021.

Nevertheless, the previously shown Toyota prototypes were definitely not electric vehicles. Therefore, the production version will likely have a gasoline V8, possibly with turbocharging and hybrid supplementation.
