Bugatti’s design director Frank Heyl noted in a conversation with CarBuzz that the current number of orders allows for confident planning of the future. The brand is currently finalizing the production of the track hypercar Bolide and is preparing to launch the Tourbillon into production. These projects alone will take up the next four years.
“If you as a business owner have such [financial stability], then everything works very reliably,” he emphasized.
The Tourbillon is a hybrid hypercar with a three-motor electric system and an 8.4-liter V16 engine. The combined output of the powertrain reaches 1800 hp, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h (60 mph) in just 2.0 seconds. The price starts at $4 million, but it is no longer possible to buy the car from the manufacturer: the entire production run has been sold out.
Thus, Bugatti has several years to develop a model that will replace the Tourbillon. What it will be remains unknown, but expectations will clearly be high.
