Kia presented the updated Stonic 2026 model year in Korea. The compact crossover has significantly changed its exterior, received a new interior design, and retains the choice between a gasoline engine and a mild hybrid (MHEV).

Kia Stonic has been produced since 2017, and for the compact model, this is already the second major update. The car is designed in accordance with the modern design language "Opposites United" and resonates with the recently presented and updated models of the brand, including the electric Sportage and EV3. At the same time, the dimensions have almost not changed: the length is 4165 mm, the width is 1760 mm, and the trunk volume is 352 liters.

Depending on the configuration, the updated Stonic comes equipped with 16- or 17-inch wheels with new rims.

Both versions for the Korean market are equipped with a 1.0-liter gasoline turbo engine T-GDi. In the standard configuration, it develops 100 hp and 172 Nm, accelerating the crossover to 100 km/h in 11 seconds. In the mild hybrid, the engine power increases to 113 hp, and the acceleration time to 100 km/h is reduced to 10.7 seconds. Both modifications are available with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

The interior is also designed in the spirit of the latest Kia models. The dashboard features two 12.3-inch displays and touch controls that can switch between climate and multimedia. Among the new features are a digital key and an expanded set of electronic assistants, including collision avoidance system, blind spot monitoring, and intelligent cruise control.

The European version of the updated model is expected later, likely accommodating the future Euro 7 environmental standards.
