BMW has introduced the production iX3 of the new generation. The electric crossover has received a new style, a "digital nerve system" with four powerful computers, and an 800-volt architecture with new type batteries.

The second generation of the BMW iX3 crossover has become the first production model on the Neue Klasse platform. In terms of dimensions, the iX3 is close to the current X3: length - 4.78 m, width - 1.89 m, wheelbase - 2.90 m. The aerodynamic drag coefficient has been reduced to 0.24 compared to 0.29 in the predecessor. The exterior is designed in the spirit of the Vision Neue Klasse X concept: vertical "kidneys", double headlights in the style of classic brand models, and clean lines without the usual plastic cladding.

The first version to hit the market will be the iX3 50 xDrive with two electric motors (one on each axle), developing 469 hp and 645 Nm. The acceleration from zero to 100 km/h takes 4.9 seconds, with a top speed limited to 210 km/h. The WLTP range is up to 805 km, while fast charging at 400 kW allows the battery to be replenished from 10 to 80% in 21 minutes.

In the cabin, the main feature is the panoramic display Panoramic iDrive, stretched from pillar to pillar, paired with a 17.9-inch central screen and a 3D projection display. The new BMW X OS is responsible for the interface, while "super brains" manage the powertrain, driver assistance systems, multimedia, and basic functions.

The trunk holds from 520 to 1750 liters according to European measurement standards. There is also a small front compartment with a volume of 57 liters.

The iX3 can be ordered now. In Germany, the 50 xDrive starts at €68,900. The European market debut is expected in March 2026. The new model will appear in the USA in the summer of 2026. Approximately around the same time, a version for China is expected. Clearly, other iX3 modifications will also appear soon.

In Europe and America, the new model will compete with the Audi Q6 e-tron, Porsche Macan EV, upcoming Mercedes GLC EV, and Volvo EX60.

BMW will produce the iX3 at a new plant in Debrecen, Hungary. The start of serial production is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
