The new Vision O concept proves that Škoda Auto still believes in estate cars. This low-profile car precedes the Octavia, due to be released by 2028, and will be closely related to the future VW ID. Golf.
Like the VW ID. Like the Golf, the Octavia will be electric. The long roof of the Vision O suggests that it will be available as a practical estate car or a liftback. But why is Škoda making these cars in the SUV era? Because the current Octavia is the brand’s best-selling model.
Skoda designers applied the latest Modern Solid style to the Vision O. While some elements of the concept, such as the 3D-printed headrests, are purely theatrical for the motor show, in general, the concept aligns with the future production model. Its appearance is expected in 2028.

Inside, instead of a traditional instrument panel, a Horizon Display measuring 1.2 m (47.2 inches) wide is located behind the steering wheel. This element occupies almost the entire width of the car at the base of the windshield. Above the center console, there is a vertical touch screen, and further down there is a rotary mode switch with tactile feedback and two pads for wireless charging of gadgets. If you’re too lazy to turn the knob, the Laura AI digital assistant with voice control can perform some tasks.

At 4,850 mm long, the Vision C is 152 mm longer than the current Octavia estate, yet still smaller than the Superb flagship model. The enormous boot has a capacity of 650 litres with the seats up. In keeping with the 'Simply Clever' tradition, the concept car's designers have included a portable Bluetooth speaker, a built-in refrigerator and four umbrellas as accessories.
Whether these features will be implemented in the production vehicle, as well as what power and range the SSP platform will provide, Skoda does not specify. However, according to some reports, we can expect 800-volt charging technology and advanced software developed in collaboration with Rivian.
