The current generation of the Toyota Corolla has been on the market for six years. Despite a light facelift in some markets by 2025, the age of the sedan is starting to show. At the same time, a fundamentally new generation is not planned, so Toyota is preparing another update of the current platform, at least for the Chinese market.
The main changes are at the front. The headlights are now divided into two blocks: at the top, a C-shaped contour with a continuous LED strip in the center, while the low and high beams are located in the lower part of the bumper and framed with black inserts. Below is a dark horizontal grille and a larger front spoiler.
On the side, the update is limited to new wheel rims, and at the back, the taillights have a different graphic and are now connected by a glowing bridge. The bumper remains the same.
There are traditionally no photos of the interior in the MIIT database, so it remains unclear whether the Corolla will retain the current dashboard or receive a design in the spirit of the new RAV4 with a larger multimedia system display.
The engines for the Chinese version remain the same: a hybrid system based on a 1.8-liter engine with 98 hp with an NCM battery and a 2.0-liter engine with 171 hp.
