Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) has announced the resumption of production of 4A-GE engine components for the iconic AE86 model, which includes the Corolla Levin/Sprinter Trueno coupes and hatchbacks.

The resumption of production of original 4A-GE engine components is part of the GR Heritage Parts project. Thus, TGR supports owners of vintage models. Currently, the company produces more than 200 types of parts for eight car models as part of the project.

This time, the GR Heritage Parts lineup has been supplemented with a cylinder head for the two aforementioned AE86 car models. The part will be produced according to the original drawings while maintaining basic characteristics, but using tighter tolerances and modern technologies, as well as taking into account the development of materials science.

AE86 is one of the iconic Toyota families. Cars from this series are popular in drifting, rally, and pop culture. The shortage of new original parts has been a serious obstacle to continuing the operation of these cars. Support from Toyota will help extend the life of machines from the 1980s.
