In the top version of the Sandero Stepway, a hybrid powertrain Hybrid 155 will be available. Sales of the updated model will begin in 2026.
The hybrid system combines a 1.4-liter gasoline engine with 108 hp, an electric motor with 49 hp, and a starter-generator. The total output is 154 hp and the torque is 170 Nm. This is significantly more than the currently most powerful engine of the Sandero.
Dacia Sandero Stepway (2026)
The system comes from the flagship crossover Dacia Bigster. A 1.4 kWh battery will be provided for short trips in electric mode and a continuously variable automatic transmission with four modes for the gasoline engine and two for the electric motor.
More precise data on performance and fuel consumption has not yet been published by Dacia. For comparison: In the significantly larger and heavier Bigster, this unit resulted in a consumption of 3.3 l/100 km in the city and about 4.3 l/100 km on the highway according to the Autocar tests. The lighter Sandero should consume even less.
Dacia Sandero (2026)
The hybrid will only be offered in the Stepway version – such plans have not yet been announced for the base Sandero.
Another novelty is that the base gasoline engine TCe 90 has been replaced by a slightly more powerful TCe 100. This is the same 1.0-liter three-cylinder unit, but with increased power of 99 hp instead of 89 hp.
