Nissan has lifted the veil on the new compact SUV Tekton, which will debut in 2026. The model will first appear in India and then in other markets. Essentially, Tekton — is a Dacia Duster with Nissan badges, which will also be sold in India under the Renault brand.
The name Tekton comes from the Greek word meaning “craftsman” or “builder”. The model was announced back in March 2024, and fresh teasers revealed more design details. It seems that the source of inspiration for the designers was the Nissan Patrol, known in North America as the Armada. Although structurally it is a Duster, sharp details help Tekton stand out in the lineup.
At the front are C-shaped LED headlights and chrome inserts on the grille. The hood is sculpted, like the Duster, but with the Tekton inscription. The rugged front bumper is adorned with aluminum inserts around the air intakes — the same design is repeated at the rear.

The side body panels and glazing are shared with Dacia, but Nissan has added different decorative vents on the sides and new alloy wheels. The rear received original taillights with LED graphics, connected by the emblem of the Japanese brand.
The exact dimensions have not been revealed yet, but the length of the Tekton should be close to 4343 mm, like the Dacia.
In the video announcement, Nissan showed a shot of the dashboard, which combines body color trim with glossy black and metallic accents. The manufacturer promises “advanced technologies” and a “premium interior,” calling the Tekton a “segment destroyer”.
Tekton is built on the CMF-B architecture, which underpins the entire Dacia lineup and many models from Renault, Mitsubishi, and Nissan in Europe. Details about the engines are still under wraps, but it is expected that the crossover will get turbocharged gasoline engines with a displacement of 1.0 and 1.3 liters, like the Dacia/Renault Duster.
The official premiere of the Tekton in India is scheduled for 2026, with sales starting the same year. Production will be set up at the plant in Chennai.
