This is the final turn in the history of the V90 model. Back in 2023, the Swedish manufacturer announced the discontinuation of all sedans and wagons amidst the unstoppable rise in popularity of SUVs. However, within half a year, they reversed their decision in the face of a "revival" in demand for wagons.
Unfortunately, this was not to last long, at least for the V90. Since the beginning of the year, around 7000 V90 and V90 Cross Country cars have been sold worldwide, accounting for just over one percent of the automaker's total sales in 2025.
A representative of Volvo Cars UK told TopGear that the decision to withdraw the V90 model "aligns with Volvo Cars' global cycle plan".
The last production unit of the Volvo V90 will spend the rest of its life in the "World of Volvo" museum in Gothenburg. For now, the smaller V60 model remains in production, although its fate seems uncertain. It may be discontinued after the 2026 model year, marking the end of a long-standing tradition of Volvo wagons.
