Alfa Romeo shared details about the Giulia and Stelvio models. The production of these diesel-engine cars will continue until the end of 2027. Additionally, next year, the "charged" Quadrifoglio versions will return.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia sedan has existed for ten years. Initially, it was assumed that the model would be discontinued this year, but Alfa Romeo changed its mind. The life cycle of the Italian competitor to the BMW 3 Series has been extended by two years.

Similarly, Stelvio will be produced until 2027. Both models are built on the Giorgio platform, developed thanks to a €1 billion investment by the former FCA group under the leadership of the late Sergio Marchionne.

The reason why Giulia and Stelvio are staying on the market longer than planned is because their successors are being upgraded to support internal combustion engines. Previously, Alfa Romeo planned to convert the next generations of models to electric vehicles. However, the spread of such cars turned out to be less active than anticipated, so the plan changed.

As a result, internal combustion engines will continue to be used, including in next models. However, Alfa Romeo needs more time to adapt the STLA Large platform for the next-generation Giulia and Stelvio to accommodate ICE.
