The novelty is aimed at buyers who choose practicality and affordability: the starting price in the UK is expected to be less than £25,000, which is cheaper than its segment counterparts, reported Autocar, citing Dacia CEO Katrin Adt.
The main features of the new car are a robust design, a platform from the Bigster model, gasoline and hybrid engines, as well as increased ground clearance. In terms of design, the model resembles an elongated and elevated Sandero, with a length of about 4.6 meters.
The Dacia management notes that the success of the Bigster crossover inspired the company to further develop and expand the lineup in the "C" segment. The brand already has a strong position among city cars (B-segment), and the emergence of a station wagon will attract new customers who are not satisfied with the SUV shapes.
Dacia C-Neo
The model under the working name C-Neo is intended to fill the niche left after the exit of models like the Ford Focus, as well as to offer an alternative to more expensive station wagons from brands like Volkswagen, Opel/Vauxhall, and Toyota. Dacia intends to adhere to a policy of minimalism, excluding unnecessary additional options to reduce costs.
All technical solutions will be extremely practical: hybrid power units with a capacity of 128 to 153 hp are expected, as well as a transmission for light off-road conditions. At the same time, the manufacturer emphasizes versatility and ease of use: the car is designed for daily family trips and an active lifestyle.
The date of the official premiere of the model has not yet been disclosed, but the Dacia management is confident that now is the optimal moment to enter the market, where many competitors have focused on crossover production and left the family station wagon segment vacant.
