Toyota showcased the 300-horsepower UTV Scion 01

The Japanese company unexpectedly introduced at the SEMA show a concept of a powerful utility terrain vehicle (side-by-side) with a hybrid power unit.

The car brand Scion existed only in the USA and Canada from 2003 to 2016 as a youth and sports division of Toyota Motor. There were no signs of reviving the brand, but here it is – a side-by-side named Scion 01.

The Scion 01 is an off-road vehicle with a turbo engine, over 300 horsepower, and a Silent Mode that allows it to drive on electric power without noise. The concept is distinguished by an aggressive exterior with a vertical front bumper, winch, light bar, massive off-road tires, body protection, "pixelated" camouflage, and an FIA-standard safety cage. It has four seats, a spare wheel, and a roof.

The Scion 01 is designed for extreme conditions: high-speed off-road races, overcoming difficult trails and rocky areas. A Toyota representative noted that this project shows how the company combines its best developments with a new audience of adventure enthusiasts.

Simultaneously, Toyota showed a prototype of the updated RAV4 GR Sport with a new aerodynamic body kit that will make the crossover lower and sportier, following the Toyota Gazoo Racing style. Other concepts were also presented alongside - Camry GT-S and Turbo Trail Cruiser.
