The Tesla Model Y RWD Long Range, in its specification for the Chinese market, is equipped with an LG lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 78.4 kWh. The crossover has a single electric motor located at the rear. The maximum power is 225 kW (302 hp), acceleration from zero to 100 km/h takes 5.6 seconds, and the maximum speed is 201 km/h.

With the arrival of the RWD Long Range, the Model Y series is now represented in China by four versions:
- Tesla Model Y RWD - from 263,500 yuan (USD 36,900)
- Tesla Model Y RWD Long Range - from 288,500 yuan (USD 40,400)
- Tesla Model Y AWD Long Range - from 313,500 yuan (USD 43,900)
- Tesla Model Y L (six-seater) - from 339,000 yuan (USD 47,500)
Although the new version is 25,000 yuan (USD 3,500) more expensive than the base model and offers increased range, other characteristics and equipment remain largely unchanged. Notably, the nine-speaker audio system, which has been controversial among some buyers, remains the same. This has drawn criticism from commentators on social media, some of whom have voiced their dissatisfaction directly to Tesla China Vice President Grace Tao on Weibo.
