Starting on this date, owners of the Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.Buzz models in the USA and Canada will be able to use more than 25 thousand Tesla Supercharger charging stations, which is particularly relevant at the start of the holiday travel season.
A NACS adapter is required to connect to the station, which is sold by Volkswagen dealers or on the manufacturer's website for $200 USD or $304 CAD. The adapter is intended only for fast DC charging and does not work with Level 2 chargers, such as the Tesla Destination Charger.
For owners of the 2025 VW ID.4 and ID.Buzz, a $100 reimbursement is provided if the adapter is purchased by July 15, 2026, and the claim is submitted within 90 days. Starting in 2026, all Volkswagen electric vehicles will be equipped with the adapter by default.
Like owners of other brands of electric vehicles, VW owners can now use the Tesla app to find compatible charging stations (though not all older stations are available for non-Tesla vehicles) and pay for charging. Additionally, up-to-date information on Tesla Supercharger stations is now loaded into Google Maps.
