FAW-Volkswagen joint venture showcased the Volkswagen Tayron L Plug-in Hybrid at the auto show in Guangzhou (China). Sales of the new version of the model will begin in the first quarter of 2026.

Externally and internally, the new Volkswagen Tayron L PHEV mirrors the design features of the gasoline Tayron L. The interior is equipped with three displays: 10.25 inches (in front of the driver), 16 inches, and 11.6 inches. The media system is adapted for China and supports CarPlay and CarLife. Depending on the configuration, the equipment may include heated and ventilated front seats, a Harman Kardon audio system, and an iFlytek voice assistant.

The crossover is equipped with the IQ.Pilot driver assistance system with adaptive cruise control, lane keeping function, automatic lane change, and remote parking. The dimensions of the Tayron L PHEV are 4684 × 1854 × 1685 mm, with a wheelbase of 2791 mm, which is noticeably larger than the previous generation.

The Tayron L PHEV received a new 1.5-liter turbo engine as part of the plug-in hybrid system. The exact specifications have not yet been disclosed, but it is known that the electric-only range will be about 100 km according to the Chinese CLTC cycle. Front-wheel and all-wheel drive versions of the model are expected.
