The model will get a sharper style with the signature Vizor grille at the front. It is expected that the car will be offered with diesel, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric powertrains.
In 2021, the sixth-generation Astra (L) marked its debut as Opel finally broke away from the legacy of General Motors, transitioning to the Stellantis platform. Four years later, the model is preparing for a mid-life cycle update aimed at keeping it relevant to buyers and strengthening its position amid the ever-expanding lineup of German brand crossovers.
The teasers indicate moderate stylistic refinements with a focus on the front. The stylistic element called the Opel Vizor has received wider LED elements framing the Opel Blitz emblem. Together, these details form what the company calls the Opel Compass — a design signature that will appear on all future models.

Also noticeable are signs of enlarged air intakes in the bumper and an updated design of alloy wheels with three double spokes and a two-tone finish. The rear appears almost unchanged, although minor bumper corrections may improve proportions.
In addition to the traditional five-door hatchback, Opel has confirmed that the update will also apply to the Astra Sports Tourer wagon.
The lineup of powertrains is expected to follow the same structure as the updated Peugeot 308. This range includes a 1.5-liter turbodiesel engine with 129 hp (96 kW), a mild hybrid with a 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 143 hp (107 kW), a 1.6-liter plug-in hybrid with 192 hp (143 kW), and a fully electric version with 154 hp (115 kW).
Opel plans to reveal full details of the updated Astra shortly. Once on the market, the model will face a competitive environment that continues to be led by the VW Golf, its relative Peugeot 308, as well as the Toyota Corolla and Hyundai i30.
