A key element of this cooperation is an agreement to develop two affordable electric vehicles under the Ford brand. The new models will be built on Renault Group's Ampere platform. Production will also be carried out by Renault Group in northern France.
The companies promise that these two vehicles will have unique driving characteristics, Ford brand authenticity, and an intuitive user experience. They will be the first step in Ford's large-scale new product strategy in Europe. The first model is expected in showrooms in early 2028.
In addition to cooperation in the field of electric vehicles, Renault Group and Ford have also signed a letter of intent to collaborate in the area of European light commercial vehicles. Under this document, the partners will explore the possibility of jointly developing and manufacturing light commercial vehicles (LCVs) under the Renault and Ford brands.
