Fiat confirmed that the compact electric car Topolino will enter the US market in 2026.

In Europe, the Topolino falls into the quadricycle category: it is closer to a golf cart or a light electric vehicle for resorts and enclosed areas than to a regular car. It does not require crash tests according to the Euro NCAP standard, and in several countries and cities, it can even be driven without a driver's license.

In the US, it is likely that the model will be classified as a low-speed vehicle (LSV). These vehicles are usually limited to speeds of 20-25 mph and formally should not exceed 30 mph, although sometimes local authorities allow speeds up to 45 mph. The Topolino has a maximum speed of 28 mph and a range of just under 50 miles on a 5.5 kWh battery charge.

The Topolino is expected to be popular in places where golf carts and similar equipment are already widely used, such as closed communities and resort areas. Another option for the Italian brand is to introduce the Topolino into states where utility terrain vehicles (UTVs) are allowed on public roads, as they are not subject to strict federal passive safety requirements.

Fiat has not yet disclosed sales details and prices, only confirming that the electric car will appear in the US, with more details promised in the coming months.

In Europe, prices vary depending on the country and local electric vehicle incentive programs. For example, in Italy, the starting price is 9,890 euros (about 11,615 US dollars) before subsidies are applied.
