Nissan announced that it will be the first to offer vehicles with Qi2 wireless chargers on the U.S. market. The 2026 Pathfinder and Murano SUV models will have them.

The Qi2 wireless charger is equipped with a protruding magnetic coil that accurately holds the smartphone relative to the induction pad for optimal performance. It is compatible with the iPhone starting from model 12, Google Pixel 10 and newer, as well as other Android devices with corresponding cases.

Nissan explained that precise alignment is crucial for wireless charging. Even a few millimeters can significantly reduce performance.

The charger has a cooling fan that reduces the temperature of both the device and the smartphone. According to the company, the system provides stable power up to 15W compared to 5W in "many chargers" of the previous generation.

Internal tests showed that the charging time from 10% to 90% was reduced from four hours to about 90 minutes. An LED indicator shows the charging status: steady orange — charging, green — fully charged, flashing orange — foreign object detected.
