With the new battery, the range of e-Transporter and e-Caravelle has increased by approximately 13% — up to 380 km. The fast charging power with direct current has also increased to 125 kW, and an optional 4Motion all-wheel drive has been introduced.
According to the manufacturer, the new battery charges from 10 to 80% in about 30 minutes at a 125 kW station. This is about 10 minutes faster compared to the previous version.
The 4Motion all-wheel drive, which will be available from early 2026, combines a rear electric motor with an additional motor on the front axle. The system automatically distributes torque between the axles depending on conditions, working together with electronic stability control and traction control system, improving traction on construction sites, wet roads, and dirt surfaces.
The all-wheel drive version will be offered in three power options: 100 kW, 160 kW, and 210 kW.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles notes that the updates are aimed at commercial customers transitioning to electric fleets. The e-Transporter and e-Caravelle are built on the same platform as the Ford E-Transit Custom, developed under the Volkswagen and Ford partnership.
